Security and Privacy
Player Two is privacy first, ensuring that third parties (service providers, hackers, etc.) cannot access your private characters and stories. Player Two's UX is designed around this fact, ensuring a high quality experience for our members at all times.
We are progressively adding security features to the platform.
WARNING
Encryption is in its early stages and may have bugs. Please report any issues to us and please also take care to back up your data. We cannot recover encrypted data for you! (that's the whole point of encryption)
Protect Your Stories with Encryption
It's important to turn on encryption for your account to keep your private and whitelisted stories and characters safe. Only you can access them with your master key, which is made from your seed phrase. Remember, your public or unlisted stories and characters aren't encrypted, so they're accessible without encryption.
How it works
- Create Your Key: When you sign up, we create a special phrase for you, called a seed phrase. You can also choose your own. This phrase is like a master key that unlocks everything in your account.
 - Secure Your Stories and Characters: The master key creates other keys that lock (encrypt) and unlock (decrypt) your stories and characters for safekeeping in our database.
 - Access Your Content: Each time you log in, you'll need your seed phrase. This key gets you back into your account and lets you interact with your private stories and characters.

Keep Your Seed Phrase Safe
WARNING
Losing your seed phrase means losing access to your encrypted private characters and stories, and we can't retrieve it for you. Keep it secret and secure.
- Keep it Secret: Never share your seed phrase with anyone.
 - Keep it Offline: Avoid storing your seed phrase on internet-connected devices.
 - Use a Password Manager: For added security, use a password manager like Bitwarden to store your seed phrase.
 - Browser Cache: When you're logged in, your keys are stored in your browser cache for quick access. It's important to keep your device secure to prevent unauthorized access to this cache. Once you log out, the keys are purged from the browser cache, requiring you to input your seed phrase again upon logging in.
 - Backup Your Data: Consider exporting and backing up your characters and stories as an extra precaution.

How We Keep Your Data Secure
INFO
Note on Data Use: Your stories and characters are encrypted for storage but need to be decrypted when you interact with them. They're also temporarily shared with our cloud when the AI is working on your story. But don't worry, they're only decrypted during active use and are otherwise safely encrypted in our database.
